Al Khor Hospital, part of Hamad Medical Corporation’s network, delivers specialized healthcare to communities outside Doha. To meet growing demand, a major refurbishment and expansion was proposed to transform the existing facility into a 500-bed hospital with a built-up area of 172,000 sqm.

The new design introduced a 350-bed operational facility with 150 additional beds as shell and core, integrating refurbished spaces and modern infrastructure. Clinical departments include Emergency, Acute and Critical Care, Operating Theatres, and Procedure Rooms, with provisions for future administrative and ancillary expansions.

The re-masterplanned site enhances infrastructure, circulation, and parking while creating a green, patient-friendly public realm. The project was completed through schematic design and later placed on hold.
