Overview
The One Million Trees Initiative is a landmark national sustainability and landscape program dedicated to planting one million native and adaptive trees across Qatar’s industrial cities. The initiative enhances biodiversity, improves air quality, reduces carbon emissions, and strengthens long-term climate resilience while fostering community participation and environmental stewardship.
Over 185,000 trees have already been planted across Ras Laffan Industrial City, Mesaieed Industrial City, and the Dukhan Concession Area. The study provides a roadmap for delivering the remaining 520,000 trees sustainably—optimizing resource use, conserving water, and maximizing long-term ecological and social benefits.
