Overview
The project is located in 80 km south of Kuwait City, the 61.5 square kilometer new city is set to be the urban core for the country’s southern sub-region
The city, for 280,000 people, will create another 145,000 jobs in a diverse range of industries including construction, medicine, manufacturing, and culture. The 61.5 sqkm city is formed into ten neighborhoods arranged around the city’s central business district and bordered by a ring of light industrial buildings. The central district contains a sports stadium, museum, city university and a major city park. The development= also has extensive green open spaces and multi-layered public transport systems that promote wellbeing and sustainability.
The city includes 25,000 plots, with 10,000 residential plots for Kuwaiti nationals. The rest are designated for public institutions, open spaces, and private investors. Villa clusters form community centers with parks, shops, schools, and mosques, while neighborhoods feature convenience hubs and schools. The masterplan promotes high-density luxury living with diverse housing options. A modular construction system ensures quality and supports the local industry. A pilot neighborhood will incorporate rooftop solar panels, enhancing sustainability.
